Seni tari jawa barat. Contohnya tari yang berasal dari daerah sumatera selatan mencerminkan seorang wanita yang sedang menenun kain songket. Dibantu dengan adanya kampus isbi bandung dan beberapa kampus seni lainnya yang menyediakan sarana untuk mahasiswa berkreasi dengan kesenian tradisional. Keunikan gerakan pada setiap pentas tari inilah yang kemudian mendongkrak keberadaan tari jaipong sebagai salah satu seni tari tradisional andalan dari jawa barat.
Namun dalam perjalanan waktu dan sejarah tari merak ini mengalami beberapa kali revisi diantaranya tari merak yang telah dibuat ulang oleh irawati durban pada tahun 1965. Tari ketuk tilu jawa barat dari seni ritual hingga cikal bakal jaipong. Jawa barat salah satu provinsi yang kaya akan tempat wisata ini ternyata memiliki beberapa kebudayaan yang masih dijaga.
Hal ini terlihat dengan sering diadakannya pagelaran alat musik tradisional atau pun tari tradisional walau beberapa. Kesenian rakyat umumnya didefinisikan sebagai karya seni yang tumbuh dan berkembang dalam kehidupan rakyat sekaligus penggemarnya adalah rakyat. Jawa barat adalah provinsi ketiga dalam daftar batavusqu untuk kreasi seni tari ada banyak kreasi seni tari dari provinsi ini mungkin karena banyaknya sejarah dan peristiwa yang tergambarkan dalam olah seni tubuh diantaranya tari dewi tari ratu graeni tari topeng tumenggung tari topeng kelana udheng tari kandagan tari topeng klana.
Di jawa barat misalnya tari pergaulan merupakan pengaruh dari ball room yang biasanya dalam pertunjukan tari tari pergaulan tak lepas dari keberadaan ronggeng dan pamogoran. Tarian ini dikenal dengan sebutan jaipongan yang merupakan jenis kesenian tari pergaulan. Tari tradisional jawa barat tari merak tari merak dari jawa barat ini diciptakan oleh seorang tokoh seni raden tjetjep somantri pada tahun 1950.
Hal ini juga terjadi pada budaya seni tarian daerah jawa barat ini.
